What are the measurements of the space? Sketch out and take note to identify windows, doorways, and other key features like a fireplace or television. Keep it simple, it does not need to be to scale.
What is the ceiling height in the space?
What kind of light is in the room? (Is the room well lit during the day and night? Light has a dramatic effect on color whether it is painted surfaces or upholstery.)
How will you use the space? (Do you have children or pets? Is the room a high traffic area? Do you entertain in this room?)
What furniture in the space do you intend to keep?
Does the furniture coincide with the color pallet you are currently using?
